Our Philosophy
Many families choose homeschooling because they value having an active, hands-on role in their child’s education. That choice often brings flexibility, personalization, and strong family involvement — but it can also mean operating without the layers of support that naturally exist in traditional school settings.
In public education, students benefit from an entire community of support: intervention programs, specialists, enrichment resources, and donors who help fill gaps when students need extra help. Homeschool families, while equally committed, often navigate those same academic challenges without access to a comparable support network.
The Fluent Figures Scholarship Program was created with that gap in mind.
Our philosophy centers on expanding access to high-quality academic support for families who have chosen an alternative reminder to public schooling, while honoring the independence and responsibility that choice reflects. When students reach academic roadblocks in reading or math, targeted tutoring can provide clarity, structure, and momentum — especially during critical learning windows.
This program invites the same spirit of educational generosity that exists in public schools to extend into the homeschool and small-group learning space. It allows community members, businesses, and organizations who already value education to direct their support toward students learning outside the traditional classroom, helping ensure that access to quality instruction is not limited by circumstance.
At its core, the Fluent Figures Scholarship Program exists to strengthen learning pathways, preserve parental choice, and create meaningful opportunities for students to move forward with confidence.
How the Program Works
The Fluent Figures Scholarship Program is supported through voluntary contributions from individuals, businesses, and organizations who value education and want to extend meaningful support beyond the traditional classroom setting. Many contributors are also drawn to the program because they appreciate parental choice and recognize the commitment required to educate children in a homeschool or small-group learning environment.
Scholarship funds are raised and designated with intention. Contributors may choose to support the program broadly or express preferences regarding the type of student need they feel most compelled to support. In many cases, community partners are invited into the process by helping identify families or learning needs where academic support would be most impactful.
Scholarship awards are structured around a defined academic timeframe, most often a semester. The scope of each award is based on student need — whether support is required in a single subject or across multiple academic areas, which may result in additional tutoring sessions over the course of the month.
As part of this partnership, contributing businesses and organizations are recognized through Fluent Figures’ marketing channels. This may include partner spotlights on the website, social media features, and in-office visibility, allowing community partners to be highlighted for their role in supporting local students and education initiatives.
This approach creates a thoughtful balance — targeted academic support for students, transparency for contributors, and meaningful recognition for businesses and organizations investing in educational growth within the community.
Additional ways to support the FFTC scholarship Program
Supporting the Fluent Figures Scholarship Fund doesn’t always mean making a direct financial contribution. Many individuals prefer to support education in ways that also benefit their own families or allow them to engage with the program more personally.
One option is through the purchase of Fluent Figures merchandise, including t-shirts and sweatshirts. One hundred percent (100%) of profits from merchandise sales are applied directly to the scholarship fund, helping expand access to tutoring for students in need while also spreading awareness of the program.
Support can also come through in-office purchases of skincare products from Wild Roots Apothecary. These purchases allow families to support an additional local business while also contributing to the Fluent Figures Scholarship Fund through partnered product sales.
In addition, families may choose to purchase supplemental learning resources or educational toys for their own children to use at home. These purchases support independent learning while helping sustain the educational environment that makes the scholarship program possible.
Each of these options offers a meaningful way to support education — aligning everyday purchases with the shared goal of expanding academic opportunity for students who need it most.
